"Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given." — Matthew 13:11

One of the greatest mysteries in the New Testament Gospels is the 40 day ministry of the resurrected Christ. It is mentioned, but there are no details. That is until you take your search into the dozens of apocryphal texts that have been cast aside by Christianity for being too weird, esoteric, and unorthodox.

However, as Latter-day Saints, specifically Latter-day Saints that have been endowed, we find many similar themes in these texts of Christ's 40 day ministry that correlate with aspects of our temple — suggesting that the endowment is not merely an invention of Joseph Smith.
